I really hope it does NOT have a FPS lock in the PC version

I didn't get a 120hz display to have it nerfed by lazy game porting.

Bought this game used at GameStop the other day. A fun break from all of the BF3 I've been playing. It's kind of a old school throwback, in the vein of Quake and Doom; linear but doesn't feel like your trapped into going one way for some reason. Just brainless fun!

Worth the money used. I even kicked out the jams and downloaded the "Sewers" expansion pack that unlock areas in game.

Yeah, I'd really never heard of the game until you posted here about it. So if I'd been expecting/waiting for this to come out and discovered this as the end product, I'd have been VERY disappointed. As it is, as a used game it is mildly entertaining. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being awesome), I'd rate it a 7 at best. Perhaps a 6.

The saving grace so far is that the game is pretty large. Gives me an alternative to BF3 when I just want to relax. I'm too competitive when I play Battlefield, I hate to lose! And I hate players that don't hate to lose, you know what I mean? Campers, trolls, jet whores, boosters and the just plain stupid/lazy mothers.

Hardcore only, but that only weeds out a few.

I'd like to edit the above statement about the size of Rage. The day after I posted this, I sat down and finished the game. I thought that I had HOURS of gameplay left to go, turns out I had about 45 minutes. Totally caught me off guard, the credits rolled and I sat there in disbelief. Ever seen that commercial about renting games so that you are not so dissappointed that you rip the books off the shelf and throw the tv out the window? Now I know what their getting at!

What a waste of money. I'll take it back to GameStop and squeeze a few of my dollars back out of it.

Metacritic (averages out all of the professional game reviews) shows the game has a score of 81 out of 100, or 3 stars out of 4. It also shows a "user score" from actual gamers like you and me as a 5.9 out of 10, or 59 out of 100. I'd say the user score is much more accurate than the critics average score! Makes a difference when you are spending your own money vs getting "wined-dined and sixty-nined" by the game developer and then handed a free copy.

I'll check the meta critic user reviews next time I think of buying another game.
